March O' Thon is on its Way!

March O' Thon, taking place on August 27th this year, is a special twelve hour practice that the Owen Valley Band and Guard does every season. Not only is this event a practice, it is also a fundraiser to help raise money for staff, show design, transportation, and many other aspects of marching band. Each student is asked to raise money in the form of pledges and any other support is welcome. On this day, the group also hopes to finish their show and perform it for friends and family. The performance begins at 7:00 and will contain all four movements of the show and a demonstration of how the band has learned it. Please feel free to bring a lawn chair and see what the Owen Valley Marching Patriots have accomplished so far!

OV Band Performs at First Football Game of the Season

At last night's football game, the Owen Valley Band and Guard premiered their 2011 season show: "Rhythms of American Music". The audience was captivated through all four movements and cheering erupted during every pause, reflecting the group's spectacular show. Following their performance, the Band and Guard joined the stands to cheer for the football team. After a few short songs and some cheers, the band concluded the night with the School Song, ensuring that regardless of the final score, everyone left the game with some Patriot Pride. Good job OV Marching Band, and good luck with the rest of your season!

Band Camp 2011

Band and Guard members have completed this year's marching band camp. For three weeks the marching endured long work days and hot temperatures to work on their show entitled "The Rhythms of American Music". The Band and Guard's first competition will be Paoli's invitational on 9/17.
